Black Teacup Pomapoo Puppies Breeders: Pomeranian Podle Mix

The Pomapoo is a cross between a Pomeranian and a toy Poodle. The result is a small dog that is affectionate, intelligent and somewhat hypoallergenic.

They’re a relatively rare cross breed that can usually be found in rescue shelters needing a forever home. Unlike some other Poodle mixes, it’s not common that you’d find a breeder of this particular cross.

Pomapoo can go by a variety of other names that include Pooranian, Pom-A-Poo, Pom A Poo, Poopom, Pomapoo, Pomadoodle, Pomeranianpoo, Pomeraniandoodle, Pomeroodle and Poopom. However, this cross breed is usually referred to as the Pomapoo.

While the American Kennel Club recognize the Pomeranian and Poodles as purebred dogs, the organization hasn’t granted the Pomapoo breed status.

Having said that, the American Canine Hybrid Club, the Designer Breed Registry, the Designer Dogs Kennel Club and the International Designer Canine Registr have all granted the Pomapoo status.

What size is your Pomapoo?

The Pomapoo is a small dog that can make an excellent companion-sized pet. This Poodle cross breed usually range from eight to nine inches as well as five to 14 pounds in weight.

We asked Teddy to give us an insight into his size:

Teddy is eight months old and he’s about five kilograms. Teddy is 12 inches tall and he isn’t expected to grow much bigger.

Emma described the size of her Pomapoo, Ziggy.

Ziggy is currently tiny! He’s only 9 weeks but he’s a quarter of the size of our two cats. He will stay pretty small as his dad is a Pomeranian and his mum a Miniature Poodle.

The Pomapoo is a small dog that is compact in size with a medium-length coat. Their coat texture and type can vary depending on whether they take after their Pomeranian or Poodle parent. They can have a curly, straight or wavy coat ranging in a spectrum of colors. These include brown, black, red, fawn, sable and white. The Pomapoo will usually have brown eyes with a black nose.

Jasmine offered a description of her Pomapoo called Chester.

Chester has black and fluffy fur. He is tall with long legs and has a similar build to a Poodle or Doodle.

How would you describe the temperament of Pomapoo?

Pomapoo are usually affectionate and friendly dogs that like to be around their pet parents. This Pomeranian mix is usually quite intelligent given the influence of the Poodle genes. While these dogs are usually friendly, it’s a good to idea to socialize your Pomapoo from a young age. The Pomeranian can be shy around strangers so you want to ensure the Pomapoo doesn’t develop a reserved personality.

Emma explained that Ziggy is a loving dog that likes to be around his fellow family members.
